Abdelaziz Djerad chaired the SONATRACH acquisition ceremony for three LNG carriers at the port of Algiers.

During his working and inspection visit to energy sector installations in Algiers as part of the celebrations commemorating the double anniversary of the nationalization of hydrocarbons and the creation of the UGTA, the Prime Minister accompanied by a large delegation of the Executive inspected the oil platform N 37 of the national hydrocarbon company SONATRACH at the port of Algiers, where it proceeded to the inauguration of three LNG carriers.

These are two (2) gas tankers (Hassi Touareg and Hassi Berkine) with a capacity of 13,000 m3 each and an oil tanker of 46,000 tonnes (In-Ecker), it was said.

Welcoming this new acquisition, Mr. Djerad underlined the interest of acquiring this type of means of transport acquired on equity by Hyproc Shipping Company, a subsidiary of SONATRACH specialized in the transport of hydrocarbons.

"This is an important accomplishment and a great investment via Algerian funding without the use of credits," he said.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister made a point of greeting all the executives, engineers and workers of SONATRACH as well as all the workers of the Algerian energy sector. (APS)
