Fabrication of offshore platforms in Egypt

Cairo 3 August 2004 – The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Eng. Sameh Fahmy had visited Petrojet workshops in Alexandria where 5 offshore platforms are being fabricated for Petrobel, Rashied Petroleum Company and Buruulls gas company.
These platforms are to be used in developing the Mediterranean offshore fields with a total weight of 17,000 ton and a total cost of $30 million.
Petrojet had also been awarded a contract for loading and discharging platform from Saudi Aramco with a total weight of 3000 tons and a total value of $25 million. The platform is being fabricated in Petrojet’s Khalige El Ziet fabrication yard located in the Gulf of Suez.
