Eni announces that the production started up in the area called “Kizomba A”, in the Angolan deepwater offshore, about 370 kilometres from Luanda.
The “Kizomba A” area, consisting of the Hungo and Chocalho oilfields, is located in the Block 15 at 1180 meters of water depth. The “Kizomba A” total production will be 250,000 barrels per day by the end of 2004.
The overall investments amount to 3.4 billion dollars and are aimed to develop 1 billion barrels of total reserves. Eni participates to the project with the 20% stake.
The other partners are ExxonMobil (operator, 40%), BP (26.67%) and Statoil (13.3%).
