TGS, a leading provider of multi-client geoscience data for exploration & production (E&P) companies, today announced the completion of the final processing products for the high-resolution Canton and Gloss Mountain 3Ds. These projects encompass approximately 2,895 square kilometers in Major, Woods and Blaine counties in the Anadarko Basin. Historical production in this area comes from stacked pay horizons ranging from the Ordovician Arbuckle to the Pennsylvanian Marmaton Group. Current targets include the Hunton, Woodford, and multiple zones within the Mississippian. The processing flow was designed to follow TGS best practices and to meet clear objectives:
AVO compliancy to maintain true amplitude
Suitability for rock property and attribute generation: prestack AVO inversion, azimuthal analysis, spectral decomposition; all products generated by our Reservoir Services team
Wavelet preservation: phase and amplitude treatment to ensure accurate reservoir analysis
TGS continues to upgrade technologies employed in AVO compliant processing such as low-frequency receiver correction, 5D interpolation, multi-dimensional/multi-pass noise attenuation, anisotropic migration, and quantitative QC’s (avo and well tie analysis, etc.). These technologies are critical for producing full integrity, high-resolution seismic products, fit-for-purpose for the generation of subsequent interpretive products.
Will Ashby, VP of North America at TGS, said, “We’re pleased to offer first class products within the prolific Midcontinent region so that operators can successfully de-risk development activities. We aim to help our customers in a challenging market by offering a suite of products that will underpin the value of their assets and position them for success in the future.”
Products for both 3D surveys are available immediately.
