The technology group Wartsila has appointed Mr Tuomas Salosaari (b. 1976), M.Sc. Eng., MBA, as the new Vice President, Information Management (CIO). Tuomas will start in the beginning of May and will report to Arjen Berends, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He succeeds Jukka Kumpulainen, who has taken on a new position outside Wartsila. As the new CIO, Tuomas is responsible for leading Wartsila Information Management with more than 300 IT professionals globally. He will, with his team, be a critical part of Wartsila's global digital transformation supporting the company’s strategy and operating models.
Tuomas works currently as Vice President for Operation Services at Fortum Business Technology. He has over 20 years of experience in leading and running IT operations at internationally operating companies, like Kone and Nokia. He has passion and acumen on translating IT deliveries into business change and driving forward the core business and digitalization agenda.
