Transneft Siberia has completed scheduled repairs at oil pumping stations and trunk pipelines located in Tyumen and Kurgan Regions and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District – Yugra.

During the scheduled shutdown of the Krasnoleninskaya – Shaim – Konda oil trunk pipeline (OTP), a 5.6 km section of the line was connected after replacement. The works were launched in October 2020 as part of the technical upgrading and revamping programme. The goal was to maintain a high level of reliability of the oil transportation process. To check the quality of welded joints, visual, ultrasonic and radiographic testings of the pipeline were carried out; no defects were detected. Additionally, the safety of the pipeline will be ensured by the new electrochemical protection system installed.

In addition, specialists carried out the repair and replacement of stop valves at the line and on-site facilities, as well as replaced 34 metres of defective sections of the Nizhnevartovsk – Kurgan – Kuybyshev oil trunk pipeline. The works were carried out during a scheduled shutdown of the OTP.

As part of the technical upgrading, a tank with a volume of 20 thousand m3 was disconnected from process pipelines at the Nizhnevartovskaya line operation dispatcher station. It is planned to partially replace the metal structures of the tank’s wall and roof, to update the foam fire extinguishing system. At the Isetskoye oil pumping station (PS), a 235 m long section of the supply pipeline of the Ust-Balyk – Kurgan – Ufa – Almetyevsk oil trunk pipeline was replaced and connected.

The implemented measures allowed to increase the reliability and safety of the line facilities and the oil pumping stations. More than 230 people were involved in the works, over 95 units of special-purpose equipment were used.

The scheduled measures were performed taking into account the requirements of occupational health, industrial and environmental safety. The operation of the pipelines and the oil pumping stations has been resumed as per schedule; they are operating under the standard protocol.
