Please be informed that the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) approved Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (“EGCO”) to acquire the LNG Shipper License to import the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) in the greatest amount of 200,380 tons per year with 10 years validity. This approval will enable EGCO to supply such fuel to the 3 power plants in its Group Companies, comprising 1) Banpong power plant, the combined-cycle power plant in Ratchaburi province with a total installed capacity of 256 MW and a fuel consumption of 54,000 tons per year, 2) Klongluang power plant, the combined-cycle power plant in Pathum Thani province with a total installed capacity of 122 MW and a fuel consumption of 27,000 tons per year, and 3) EGCO Cogeneration power plant, the SPP replacement in Rayong province with the installed capacity of approximately 100-120 MW and a fuel consumption of 119,000 tons per year in place of the existing site of which the PPA will expire in 2024.

Furthermore, EGCO notified to ERC its revised plan for the first import of LNG at the end of 2021.

The actual shipment will be subject to ERC’s consideration whereas the supply of full capacity is expected to proceed in Q3/2022 hereafter. The supply sources are under negotiation which are expected to come from Asia and Africa regions. This import of LNG will support the fuel cost management for power generation and open investment opportunities for EGCO Group in fuel business.
