Equinor – Njord A – Emergency Preparedness

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Equinor’s management of emergency preparedness at Njord A. The audit was conducted on 18 and 19 May 2021.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify Equinor’s management and follow-up of emergency preparedness in connection with preparations for operation, and that these comply with the company’s and the authorities’ requirements.

Result
Two improvement points were identified during the audit. These concerned:
• Internal handling of non-conformities
• System for training and drills

What happens now?
We have asked Equinor for their assessment of the improvement points observed. The deadline for this is set at 16 August 2021.
