In the future, Vattenfall and Parkwind will work together in the direct marketing of offshore wind: The Vattenfall Renewables team has been commissioned to market the renewable electricity from the “Arcadis Ost 1” offshore wind farm. The operating company Parkwind Ost GmbH and Vattenfall have now concluded a corresponding agreement on this. Parkwind Ost is a subsidiary of Parkwind nv based in Belgium. Parkwind already operates 3 offshore wind farms in the Belgian North Sea with an installed capacity of 771 MW.

Parkwind's 250 MW Arcadis Ost 1 offshore wind farm is being built around 19 kilometers northeast of the island of Rügen in the Baltic Sea, in the coastal sea of ??Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. According to the current status of planning, construction should start in the 2nd quarter of 2022. A total of 27 wind turbines from the manufacturer MHI Vestas are used. Parkwind expects Arcadis Ost 1 to be able to feed the first wind power from the Baltic Sea into the German transmission grid from the end of 2022.

Eric Antoons , Managing Director of Parkwind Ost GmbH, comments: “With the agreement with Vattenfall, we are adding another strong partner to the Arcadis Ost 1 project on the customer side. Vattenfall's experience in direct marketing strengthens our mission in the field of green energy and guarantees us optimal access to the German electricity market."

Erik Suichies, Head of the customer area of ??Vattenfall's European wholesale business, says: “In line with Vattenfall's strategy of enabling fossil-free living within a generation, we always strive to leverage our expertise in the marketing of renewable systems, especially in the offshore wind sector - one of ours Focus on renewable energies - to be further strengthened. Arcadis Ost 1 is therefore perfectly suited to further strengthen and diversify our direct marketing portfolio in Germany. In addition, Arcadis Ost 1 has the potential to be an interesting addition to any corporate PPA structure in which we would like to support Parkwind in the coming years. As an experienced and financially solid partner, we can give Parkwind the security it needs. We are happy,
