Source: 12/2/2021, Location: Europe

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has conducted market surveillance of Maximator AS and their gas booster pump product. The inspection was carried out on 5 October 2021.

The objective of market surveillance is to monitor products covered by harmonised goods rules to ensure that only products that comply with applicable regulations are sold in the internal EU/EEA market.

During the market surveillance operation, one non-conformity was identified concerning non-fulfilment of the distributor's obligations.

No improvement points were identified.

What happens now?
We have asked Maximator to report on how the non-conformity will be addressed.

The deadline for feedback is set at 1 January 2022.

Market supervision
Market supervision is an obligation incumbent on the national authorities to monitor products made available in Norway. Market supervision is conducted by proactive or reactive means that entail checking that products meet applicable safety requirements.

Proactive market supervision is a planned approach by which we investigate whether products placed on the market comply with the product regulations. Reactive market supervision is conducted primarily on the basis of incidents or suspicions that the product fails to meet the legal requirements.
