The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Equinor and its materials handling at Heimdal.

The audit was conducted from 25 to 28 October 2021.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor the company's management of logistics that comprised materials handling and the safe use of lifting equipment. The audit included verifying whether planning and execution of logistics operations complied with the requirements, and following up the handling and maintenance of lifting equipment, with the intention of reducing the likelihood of accidents and injuries.

Result
The audit identified one non-conformity concerning the management of the storage and maintenance of unsecured lifting equipment.

Two improvement points were also observed, concerning:
• Competence requirements for lifting equipment technical responsible persons
• Access to offshore cranes

• What happens now?
We have asked Equinor to report on how the non-conformity will be addressed and to provide its assessment of the improvement points observed.

The reply deadline is set at 15 December 2021.
