Conclusion of Partnership Agreement on Utilization of Woody Biomass Materials

Shunan City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Idemitsu Kosan Corporation, Tosoh Corporation, Tokuyama Corporation, and Marubeni Corporation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (hereinafter, "MOU") on December 15, 2021 regarding the utilization of woody biomass materials and forest management.

The purpose of this Agreement is to promote the utilization of woody biomass materials and forest management in Shunan City by Shunan City, Idemitsu, Tosoh, Tokuyama, and Marubeni through the "Shunan City Woody Biomass Utilization Promotion Council" established in January 2021. Matters for Cooperation

1) Utilization and local production for local consumption of woody biomass materials
2) Forest management and effective use of forests
3) Other matters deemed necessary to promote the utilization of woody biomass materials and forest management

In the future, based on this agreement, we will continue to discuss the implementation of a joint demonstration project for the utilization of woody biomass materials and forest management using city-owned forests.
