PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) signed a Head of Agreement (HoA) cooperation with PT Pertamina Rosneft Pengolahan dan Petrokimia (PRPP) for sea transportation services, marine services, and marine facilities provision in the Grass Root Refinery (Tuban GRR) project.
The HoA cooperation was signed by President Director of PRPP, Reizaldi Gustino, and CEO of PIS, Erry Widiastono, on Monday (18/4). It was also witnessed by the President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), Nicke Widyawati, and the Director of Logistics & Infrastructure of Pertamina, Mulyono.
As a follow-up to the collaboration signing, PIS will complete the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and develop a project management concept for the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) marine terminal construction, estimated at USD 1.2 billion. The marine terminal facility construction project is targeted to start in 2023 and be able to operate in 2027.
In addition to the cooperation of marine facilities such as jetty, SPM, and jetty construction at the Tuban GRR, PIS is also planning to transport products from the Tuban refinery in the future.
"This cooperation is expected to last long term, both for the construction of marine facilities, marine services, and sea transportation. This long-term collaboration is also expected to bring benefits to both parties. Thus, both parties can develop their respective business portfolios," said Acting Corporate Secretary of PIS, Roberth MV Dumatubun.
The Tuban GRR project is a national strategic project that will process crude oil with up to 300 thousand barrels per day. Moreover, the Tuban refinery will also produce 4.1 million tons of petrochemical and aromatic products per year.
