Suez Canal discusses ways to cooperate jointly with Lloyd's Register

General Osama Rabie, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority, and Mr. Ralph Baker, Head of Business Development for the Maritime and Maritime Sector in the Middle East and Africa at Lloyd's Register International, discussed ways of joint cooperation at the Ismailia Extension Building.

At the beginning of the meeting, General Osama Rabie expressed his pride in the relations between the Suez Canal Authority and Lloyd's Register International, stressing his interest in expanding cooperation in the fields related to the training of human cadres, exchange of expertise and providing technical advice, in addition to strengthening the existing cooperation with the authority's arsenals in overseeing the construction of naval units and issuing certificates of their validity for international navigation in accordance with the requirements of the International Maritime Organization IMO In addition to issuing annual international certificates to locomotives and maritime units of the Authority.

Rabie explained that the Authority attaches great importance to maximizing the utilization of its human and technical resources as part of its development strategy, pointing out in this regard, to look forward to sharing experiences with Lloyd's Register International to contribute to raising the level of training in the technical training centers of the Authority.

Ralph Baker, Head of Business Development for the Maritime and Maritime Sector in the Middle East and Africa at Lloyd's Register, expressed confidence that the cooperation will support the Authority's efforts to develop its human resources, praising the authority's outstanding human and technical assets in various fields, particularly the expertise of the Shipyard Design Center and the Marine Units of the Port Said Marine Arsenal.
