Transocean Awarded $181M Contract Extension for Semisubmersible Transocean Spitsbergen

Equinor Energy AS has granted an extra nine wells to the contract for the harsh environment semisubmersible Transocean Spitsbergen for work offshore Norway, according to Transocean Ltd. The firm portion of the contract extension is scheduled to commence in October 2023 and end in April 2025, with an anticipated backlog of $181 million. Revenue connected with performance incentives, additional services, and contract option periods is not included in the expected firm backlog.
