The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Aker BP and their system for overpressure protection of inlet arrangements at Alvheim and the company’s follow-up of the system’s defined performance requirements. The audit was conducted from 23 to 25 May 2022.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor that the design and follow-up of barrier functions for overpressure protection of inlet arrangements have been carried out in compliance with the regulatory requirements.

Result
One non-conformity was identified during the audit, concerning the establishment of operational barriers for overpressure protection.

In addition, an improvement point was identified concerning the closure time requirements for process safety valves.

What happens now?
We have asked Aker BP to report by 15 August 2022 on how the non-conformity will be addressed and for their assessment of the improvement point observed.
