The Oil and Gas Holding Company B.S.C (“nogaholding”) and its operating companies have successfully concluded their youth summer internship program, Empower, with a commemorative event hosted by the Group and attended by management teams and students.
Empower was launched to provide an opportunity for university students to explore and train in different fields in the oil and gas sector. Through this program, the students gained valuable hands-on work experience at some of the leading companies in the nogaholding Group, including Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), Bahrain Aviation Fueling Company (BAFCO), Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY), Tatweer Petroleum, Bahrain National Gas Company (Banagas) and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC).
Commenting on the program’s conclusion, nogaholding Group CEO, Mr. Mark Thomas, said: “Our Chairman, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, His Majesty’s Representative for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs, has always been a strong advocate for youth empowerment. His vision places youth at the forefront of economic development, and we at nogaholding are committed to achieving this vision through embedding training and development opportunities like Empower as core elements of our operations. We are proud of the achievements of each and every student in this program, and we look forward to seeing them achieve great things as they enter the workforce.”
The program, which trained close to 200 students, ran during the months of July and August and comes in line with the Group’s commitment to invest in the future of the Kingdom by training a strong pool of future industry leaders and developing their professional and technical skills.
