Proton Motor Power Systems plc, the designer, developer and producer of fuel cells and fuel cell electric hybrid systems with a zero-carbon footprint, announces that Manfred Limbrunner will be appointed as the Director of Proton Motor's newly established Governmental Affairs & Communication department with Jean-Pierre Sevrain appointed to lead the Sales and Marketing department, effective from 1 October 2022.
Governmental Affairs & Communication department
The Directors of Proton Motor consider that awareness of hydrogen as an alternative future energy source is increasing to a considerable extent both amongst the public and within the industry. The demand for associated technologies such as fuel cells is becoming more concrete. The Ukraine conflict is also accelerating these impulses as consequences of the energy supply squeeze resulting in the need to find suitable alternative sources of energy.
In light of the above environment, Manfred Limbrunner, currently Director of Sales and Marketing as well as executive board member of Proton Motor, is appointed with effect from 1 October 2022 to set up and run a new "Governmental Affairs & Communication" department within the Company. The role of the department will be to expand its networking with all relevant parties and establish a Proton Motor lobby on political and all other relevant levels. In addition, Manfred Limbrunner will continue to be responsible for Business Development and Market Communication and will remain on the Company's Board of Directors.
Sales and Marketing
Due to the wide scope of Manfred Limbrunner's new responsibilities, Proton Motor will also be appointing Jean-Pierre Sevrain as the new Head of Sales and Marketing, also with effect from 1 October 2022, in a non-Board capacity. Jean-Pierre Sevrain has a strong industry background and in the last 25 years he has held several international positions (Europe, Asia, US) in sales, product and project management. In his most recent position, he held the role of Head of Sales Europe at a German subsidiary of the Hoerbiger Group.
Dr. Faiz Nahab, Chief Executive Officer of Proton, stated: "Proton Motor aims to facilitate the contact and communication between the Company and all relevant stakeholders (governmental, municipalities, European Union institutions, industry networks), because we believe, that this will accelerate the introduction of innovation created by Proton Motor to combat climate change. The goal for the Company - as an international player since 1998 - is to establish a global market presence in order to dynamically shape social and political developments. With his technical and sales background, Manfred Limbrunner is perfectly positioned to take on the new responsibility associated with leading the Governmental Affairs & Communication's department.
"I also welcome Jean-Pierre Sevrain to the team, who, with his extensive experience in sales and marketing, is perfectly positioned to lead the sales and marketing teams in exploiting the increasing demand for hydrogen as an alternative emission free source of energy."
