Stolt Tank Containers and Stolt Tankers Partner with Stakeholders for Essential Safety Training

This month, Stolt Tank Containers and Stolt Tankers both partnered with local authorities and emergency services in the Netherlands to conduct essential safety and incident-response training.

Stolt Tank Containers' Moerdijk depot worked with all three shifts of the local fire brigade to practice their joint response to a tank container leak scenario.

"We believe practice makes perfect and we will keep running these scenarios – together with all stakeholders, including our onsite colleagues from Stolthaven Terminals Moerdijk – to ensure the safety of all our employees and visitors to the site," said Ilja Siebert, Global Manager, SHEQ.

Stolt Tankers has also partnered with local experts to ensure its safety procedures are as effective as possible. Last week, Dick Wennekendonk, Officer in Charge from the Port of Rotterdam, joined the team for a joint emergency response exercise as part of Stolt Tankers' ongoing training programme.

"It was great to have Dick join our local Rotterdam team to help us understand more about how the port operations team responds during an emergency and to share our own insights," said Ivo Verstrepen, Quality Assurance and Environment Manager, Stolt Tankers.
