End-of-the-year sprint for Ostwind 3 project team: the application documents for the planning approval procedure pertaining to the cable section in the coastal waters were submitted to the Ministry of Economics, Infrastructure, Tourism and Labour of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (WM M-V). As a next step, the permitting authority will review the documents.
"This is an important milestone before the end of the year and within the expected time frame. All of our energy is now focussed on the third and last application for the onshore section," said Isabelle Poßner, general project leader for Ostwind 3 at 50Hertz.
The plan is to complete the application documents pertaining to the planning approval procedure for the onshore section, including the substation and overhead line connection, during the first quarter of 2023 and to submit them to the WM M-V, the competent permitting authority.
Ostwind 3 is the grid connection project for the Windanker wind farm. A capacity of 300 MW will be transported from this wind farm. For the first time, the entire offshore substation (OSS) will be planned, constructed and operated by 50Hertz in addition to the cable systems that will connect the wind farm to the transmission grid.
