Within the framework of the Southern Gas Corridor Consultative Council, an Agreement was signed between the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and Romania's "Romgaz SA" on the transportation of up to one billion cubic meters of gas from Azerbaijan to Romania in 2023-2024.
The agreement is considered a continuation of the documents signed between SOCAR and Romgaz SA on October 19 and December 16, 2022.
The documents that ensure the formation of the legal basis of relations in the field of energy between the two countries will expand the export geography of Azerbaijani gas, and will make an important contribution to the further strengthening of cooperation between the countries, as well as to Europe's energy security and "green energy" strategy.
