Research, training and testing: these are the main trajectories of the framework agreement signed by the the Polytechnic University of Bari with Kailia Energia and Odra Energia, the companies born from the partnership between Renantis (formerly Falck Renewables) and BlueFloat Energy that are promoting the construction of two floating offshore wind farms off the coast of Puglia.
The three-year collaboration, focused on the development of floating offshore wind projects, includes research activities aimed at the design, construction and maintenance of the plants as well as the creation of an industrial supply chain dedicated to offshore wind farms.
On the training front, it is planned to activate advanced learning opportunities, such as internships for students and recent graduates, internships, support in dissertations, scholarships and specialized courses.
The agreement also covers activities to test cutting-edge technologies, for example through pilot projects or joint participation in national and international research programs.
“The attention of the most innovative companies to Puglia is very high right now,” says the Rector of the Polytechnic University of Bari, Francesco Cupertino. Our university,” he continues, “provides its multidisciplinary expertise to support major projects that can accelerate the growth of the territory. The energy transition, in fact, requires effective synergies between university and business, such as the one we formalize today with Kailia Energia and Odra Energia, in order to achieve the common goal of true sustainable development. In particular, clean energy will be central in the coming years, and we want to support the change with research, technological innovation and a training adapted to the new needs of the labor market.“
“Integrating our know-how with that of the Polytechnic University of Bari for projects of national strategic importance,” says Ksenia Balanda, Manager Director of the BlueFloat Energy & Renantis partnership in Italy, “will allow us to promote innovative solutions capable of generating shared value with the territory, which for us represents an indispensable asset in the development of our two offshore wind farms, Kailia and Odra. We are confident that the effective support of the Polytechnic University of Bari will contribute significantly to enriching and enhancing the development of floating technology and creating educational and professional opportunities for many students of the prestigious Apulian university.”
