Rod Elliott, chairman of Anglo American, Chen Gang, general manager of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, Zhang Wei, deputy general manager, and Wu Aijun, deputy general manager of CSSC Trading, attended the naming and delivery ceremony. Anik Michaud and Ms. Audrey Ng, godmothers of the new ship, cut the ribbon and named the "UBUNTU EMPATHY" and "UBUNTU HUMANITY" ships respectively.
"UBUNTU EMPATHY" and "UBUNTU HUMANITY" are the 7th and 8th ships of the 10 series built by CSSC and Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Anglo American. . This series of ships has an overall length of 299.80 meters, a molded width of 47.5 meters, a molded depth of 24.70 meters, a design draft of 18.25 meters, and a design draft speed of 14 knots. It has notable features such as "green, environmental protection, energy saving, and safety" and is independently developed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
