Jemena Statement on Alleged Breaches of National Gas Rules

On 1 June 2023, the Australian Energy Regulator (AER) instituted proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia alleging our Group had breached its obligations relating to the Day Ahead Auction Process.
These allegations relate to a number of issues experienced between March 2019 and February 2022 which impacted our reporting of pipeline capacity to the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO).
Our Group identified this issue internally and self-reported to the Australian Energy Regulator.
We also refunded all auction revenue to customers where the auction results were potentially affected, and have not benefitted financially from the error.
We are disappointed that this inadvertent issue occurred and have taken steps to minimise the likelihood of a similar incident occurring again in the future.
We take compliance with all of our regulatory obligations seriously and will continue to work with the AER to ensure our activities comply with those regulations governing the operation of the gas market.
