The Minister of Industry, Enrique Fernández, who met today with the president of the multinational company from Avilés, Orlando Alonso, offers the support of the Principality to facilitate administrative procedures and identify financing channels.
“It is a leading Asturian company, with a reliable, solvent and rigorous plan to recover its activity and generate new jobs,” said Enrique Fernández.
The meeting was attended by the General Directors of Energy and Industry, Miny Díaz Aguado and Juan Carlos Aguilera Folgueiras, respectively. Justo Acedo Carrillo, General Manager, and Oier Zurimendi Unzueta, Legal Manager, participated on behalf of Windar Renovables.
Last week, the multinational company from Avilés announced the presentation of an offer to purchase the facilities of Alu Ibérica with the aim of setting up a factory of structures for the latest generation of offshore wind turbines on its land. The project, which will involve an investment of close to 110 million euros, could generate up to 510 direct jobs and 200 more indirect jobs, thus far exceeding the number of jobs that Alcoa had.
