Equinor – Statfjord A – Integrity Management

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of Equinor's integrity management of concrete shafts at Statfjord A. The audit was conducted on 8 and 9 May 2023.

Objective
The objective of the audit was to monitor and verify that the company has established systems to safeguard the integrity of the concrete structures at Statfjord A, including condition monitoring and repairs, so as to reduce the likelihood of failure, hazard and accident situations.

Result
No non-conformities were detected during this audit.
We identified three improvement points during the audit. These concerned:
• Better follow-up of the condition of the structures and the need for maintenance
• Better routines for weight monitoring
• Better follow-up of the safeguarding of structures

What happens next?
We have asked Equinor for their assessment of the improvement points identified. The reply deadline is set at 14 July 2023.
