Marubeni Thailand Co., Ltd (hereinafter, “Marubeni Thailand”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation and WHA Corporation PCL. (hereinafter, “WHA”), which develops industrial estates and operates warehouses listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), have concluded a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) regarding strategic collaboration toward the establishment of commercial EV fleet management services* in the Kingdom of Thailand (hereinafter, “Thailand”).
The purpose of this MOU is to facilitate collaboration to deliver comprehensive solutions and propose efficient operations leveraging commercial EVs through the integration of digital technology and know-how for use in WHA’s logistics warehouses and industrial estate customers. The two companies share the common goal of reducing greenhouse gas and carbon emissions to mitigate environmental impacts.
Through this MOU, Marubeni Thailand and WHA will introduce and promote commercial EVs in Thailand and engage in electric Mobility as a Service (“eMaaS”) projects utilizing commercial EVs, thereby contributing to the Government of Thailand’s goal to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
* EV fleet management services:
These are services to provide all necessary actions involved in the organization and coordination for the procurement, maintenance, repair, and disposal, of EV vehicles. Furthermore, monitoring fleet activities makes it possible to continuously improve across-the-board efficiency and reduce costs, while facilitating decisions on appropriate asset management, dispatch and routing, as well as vehicle acquisition and disposal.
