Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO, President and CEO Eiji Hosoi) has developed a digital twin of Cracked Gas Compressor (CGC) for the ethylene plant of Maruzen Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Maruzen Petrochemical) using its digital offering DX-PLANT®. This has enabled to identify a maximum 4% difference between the compressor power calculated in DCS *1 and the power based on the actual operating conditions calculated in DX-PLANT??. Real-time power calculation based on actual operating conditions in virtual space, so-called digital twin, has the potential to improve operating performance compared to conventional DCS used for operation management. This is an important achievement. Both companies will continue to verify the results confirmed thus far and consider more ways to improve the efficiency of plant operations.
