The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has carried out an audit of AKOFS Offshore (AKOFS)’s and Archer AS (Archer)’s management of the working environment for their own employees and contractors on the AKOFS Seafarer facility.
The audit was conducted from 24 May to 9 June 2023.
Objective
The objective of the audit was to verify that AKOFS’s and Archer’s management of the working environment complied with the regulatory requirements, and to follow up non-conformities from a previous working environment audit from the AoC process in 2020.
Result
We identified six non-conformities on the part of AKOFS, concerning:
analysis of the working environment
follow-up of chemical health hazards
follow-up of noise
follow-up of hand/arm vibration
personal protective equipment
routines for analysing alarm load
We also identified one improvement point in respect of AKOFS, concerning:
HSE training of managerial personnel
We also identified two improvement points in respect of Archer, concerning:
HSE training of managerial personnel
analysis of the psychosocial working environment
What happens next?
We have asked Archer and AKOFS Offshore to report on how the non-conformities will be addressed, and for their assessment of the improvement points identified. The reply deadline for Archer is set at 19 September 2023, while AKOFS’s is set at 18 October 2023.
