Gassco – Statpipe Receives Consent to Extend Lifetime

The Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has given Gassco consent to extend the lifetime of the Statpipe pipeline system for gas transport.

Lifespan
Statpipe is a transport system that transports natural gas from the field in the northern part of the North Sea, via the processing plant at Kårstø, to the Emden terminal in Germany.

The system is 892 kilometers long, and consists of four pipelines. It was put into service in 1985. Statpipe was the first gas pipeline to cross the Norwegian Trench.

The operator is Gassco and the technical service provider (TSP) is Equinor.
