The measure is included in the environmental procedure of two parks in Almudévar, Alcalá de Gurrea and Gurrea de
Gállego.
The environmental declaration of two new wind farms includes the improvement of the natural habitat in 180 hectares of the Hoya de Huesca region , in the municipalities of Almudévar , Alcalá de Gurrea and Gurrea de Gállego . After this authorization, the two parks planned by Forest alia will have eight machines, which will add an installed power of more than 46 megawatts (MW).
The environmental declaration formulated by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition (MITECO) foresees 140 hectares destined for the recovery and improvement of steppe habitats and appropriate habitats for the species of red-billed chough, common Egyptian vulture, golden eagle, red kite, common crane and bats.
In addition, another 40 hectares must be promoted for environmental recovery on degraded forest lands or in nearby agricultural areas, but sufficiently far from the influence of wind turbines. The surface will extend over a territory that, at least, doubles the habitats of community interest that may be affected by the projects. The planned investment, once the adjustments to the environmental declaration have been applied, is estimated at around 50 million euros.
