The pan-European infrastructure investor Marguerite, through its Marguerite I fund, and its partner RP Global, have finalised the sale of 100% of Aeolus, which owns the Kukinia (53 MW) and Tychowo (50 MW) onshore wind farms in Poland to ENGIE Zielona Energia (EZE). EZE is part of ENGIE, a global low-carbon energy and services provider.
The agreement was signed on 28 July 2023, and was successfully completed following the approval from Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK).
Developed by RP Global, the wind farms are located in the north of Poland and were one of the first investments of Marguerite. In 2012, the fund acquired a 49.99% stake, while RP Global retained the remaining 50.01%.
The Tychowo wind farm consists of 20 Nordex N90 turbines and has been operational since 2009, while the Kukinia wind farm has 23 Enercon E-82 turbines and has been operational since 2013.
Marguerite was advised by Rothschild & Co (transaction), Clifford Chance (legal), EY (financial and tax), and Mott MacDonald (technical).
