The Sterling Streamline, a next generation concept design for large FPSO newbuild hulls from Shapoorji Pallonji Energy (SPE), has received approval in principle (AIP) from ABS.
The design features flexible mooring configurations, 60 risers and an umbilical slots riser balcony, with an oil processing capacity of up to 250,000 barrels per day and storage capacity of minimum 2.2 million barrels of crude oil. ABS completed concept design reviews based on class and statutory requirements.

SPE’s Engineering team are well-versed with ship design, with personnel that have undertaken multiple similar endeavors in the past.”
The project is now in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) with an expected completion in early 2024.
ABS classed the first FPSO vessel in U.S. waters in 1978 and continues to lead safety and innovation with new technology that supports larger, more complex FPSOs operating in ultra-deep water.
