EGAT united with energy networks to organize EGAT ENERGY FORUM 2023 in order to feature outstanding innovations, develop a sustainable energy industry, exchange knowledge and experience between networks in the power generation industry both in Thailand and overseas, and reaffirm its role of a complete green energy business leader.
On October 30, 2023, Dr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, chaired the opening of EGAT ENERGY FORUM 2023 held by the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) under the theme “Green Smart Energy Solutions: Develop Innovation and Unite the Power of Green Energy Networks.” Mr. Ruengchai Kongthong, Secretary to the Minister of Energy; Mr. Samerjai Suksumek, Chairman of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC); Dr. Jiraporn Sirikum, EGAT Deputy Governor – Power Business and Acting Governor; domestic and international Independent Power Producers (IPP) and Small Power Producers (SPP); and power generation industry network of over 500 participants joined the event at Millennium Hilton Bangkok.
Dr. Jiraporn Sirikum, EGAT Deputy Governor – Power Business and Acting Governor, revealed that EGAT held the 13th EGAT ENERGY FORUM to exchange knowledge, experience, and energy innovation between EGAT, IPP, SPP, and related entities in the power generation industry in order to support innovation for sustainable development for the benefit of the public and the country. EGAT also recognizes the challenges of fast-changing innovation and technology and aims to showcase green energy innovation that is modern and eco-friendly to develop the main energy business (i.e., electricity generation), related energy businesses (i.e., power plant operation and maintenance, transmission system, and by-products), as well as EleX by EGAT and EV Business Solutions which are currently receiving attention and will be the future of business expansion.
The event was honored by Dr. Prasert Sinsukprasert, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy, who gave a keynote speech on the topic of “Sustainable Energy Transition Roadmap of Thailand.” Moreover, various distinguished executives in the energy industry participated in two discussions on the topic of “Sustainable Energy Paths: Accelerating the Transition and Building a Green Future” and “Eco Friendly Power Plant O&M Management.”
In addition, there were seminars to exchange knowledge and experience by qualified experts from EGAT and leading companies in the power generation industry covering various topics and an exhibition on the development of EGAT innovations, such as EGAT Smart Energy Solution, EGAT EV Business Solutions, “EleX by EGAT” EV Charging Station, and Hydro Power Plant Fully Automatic Restart After Line Fault.
