Marine claims specialist Paul Johnston has joined ABL – consultants in marine casualty management – in the strategic role of Client Relationship Director, part of the European maritime team.
Johnston transitions to ABL after 11 years at NorthStandard Limited, where he occupied the role of Senior Claims Executive. Johnston’s primary focus will be to work closely with P&I providers and marine law firms to solidify relationships and augment the deliverable work product for these clients.

A Master Mariner, Johnston’s background also includes 18 seafaring years in the merchant navy, working for major shipping companies like P&O Cruises, P&O Ferries, Maersk Norfolkline, and Meridian Marine Management.
Beyond his operational expertise, Johnston also brings his wealth of knowledge in P&I Insurance. This blend of hands-on and P&I focused experience further solidifies his stature in the marine insurance sector.
