The media are calling it an “electric-car game-changer,“ a car that will “make electromobility affordable for everyone”: the all-new Citroën ë-C3, which is due to be launched in the spring of 2024. The small car’s battery is notable for its impressive technical details.
Two key figures, in particular, are responsible for the enthusiastic media response to the small French car from Stellantis: the combination of the low entry-level price of 23,300 euros (without incentives) and a range of up to 320 kilometers according to the WLTP standard. This is unprecedented for a five-seater compact car, and it reinforces Stellantis “Leading the way the world moves”. Previously, customers either had to be satisfied with other vehicles that offered significantly less range; or they simply had to break their bank accounts to pay higher prices to gain this type of range.
Innovative Lithium-Ion-Phosphate battery from SVOLT
The specific electrical key data of the all-new Citroën ë-C3 received particular praise in the report: the lithium-ion phosphate battery supplied by SVOLT has a capacity of 44 kWh. Compared to a conventional lithium-ion battery, it offers greater thermal and chemical stability and can withstand more charging cycles. As a result, the ë-C3 can also be charged at a fast-charging station with up to 100 kW of electricity and its storage capacity can be topped up from 20% to 80% within 26 minutes. There is only time for a quick coffee before the journey can continue.
Kai-Uwe Wollenhaupt, President SVOLT Europe: “As a fully affordable electric car that is suitable for everyday use, the all-new Citroën ë-C3 really does have the potential to achieve a breakthrough in electromobility for a large customer group. We are proud that SVOLT is making a decisive contribution to this.”
This collaboration between Stellantis and SVOLT in developing this “Electric-Car Game-Changer” reinforces the power of Stellantis's Core Value of “We Win Together.”
