Asia's first marine wind rotor propulsion system independently developed and manufactured by my country completed its first voyage after delivery, marking new progress in my country's ship power technology and achieving zero breakthrough in the field of commercial ship rotor sail system technology. , which has important demonstration significance in promoting the green and low-carbon development of the shipping industry.

The rotor sail system is a new technology that uses wind energy to drive ships. The motor drives the rotor to rotate, generating thrust perpendicular to the direction of the incoming wind. The rotary sail system put into use this time is installed on both sides of the front of the deck of the 10,000-ton large-scale deck transport ship "Haiyang Shiyou 226". It is composed of a composite outer cylinder, a steel inner tower, a motor, a base, etc., with a design height of 18 meters. , with a diameter of 4 meters, a single weight of 40 tons, a maximum speed of 200 revolutions per minute, and can work in an environment of minus 25 degrees Celsius. By installing the rotary sail system, the "Offshore Oil 226" ship can save fuel by an average of 12% per year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 400 tons, achieving full life cycle benefits.

It is understood that the optimal wind direction of the rotary sail system is cross wind. my country's coastal routes are very rich in wind resources. The average wind force of offshore routes reaches level 4, which has broad application prospects. In addition, the rotary sail system has good compatibility when combined with other equipment and fuel, which can further promote the coordinated green development of my country's shipbuilding, new energy and other industries.
