A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus,
took place.
The meeting addressed the ongoing interaction between Gazprom and its Belarusian partners. It was highlighted that the cooperation is pursued with due regard to the interests of the parties and is mutually beneficial. This helps shape uniform approaches to the creation of the Union State's energy market and continue the work to implement the decisions of the Supreme State Council of the Union State and the Decree “On the Guidelines for Implementing the Provisions of the Treaty Establishing the Union State for 2024–2026” signed by Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus, on January 29, 2024.
Alexey Miller noted that the ongoing construction of the Gazprom Center multifunctional complex in Minsk serves as a confirmation of the high level of cooperation between Russia and Belarus in the gas sector.
Dmitry Mezentsev informed Alexey Miller on the expanded number of cooperation areas between Russia and Belarus as part of the Union State. At present, the areas falling within the purview of the Council of Ministers include culture, science, education, as well as humanitarian and civic & patriotic matters.
Alexey Miller told the meeting participants about the extensive work being carried out by Gazprom to preserve the historical and cultural legacy for the younger generations of Russia and Belarus to know the heroic chronicles of their motherlands and be proud of the glorious pages in their history.
