Iraq Reopens North Refinery in Baiji Closed for a Decade

The many steps taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, especially in supporting the national economy, received wide praise from parliamentary circles, and his efforts were welcomed and supported by a number of members of the House of Representatives, especially with the opening of the Baiji refinery after a hiatus that lasted about 10 years. We consider these steps. In confirmation of the Iraqi government’s commitment to its timetables that it pledged to itself in its government program.

* Government commitment

In this regard, the official spokesman for the Oil, Gas and Natural Resources Committee, Representative Ali Shaddad, said in a statement, “The opening of the Baiji Oil Refinery confirms the Iraqi government’s commitment to its timetables that it pledged to itself in its government program, through which it seeks to raise the level of the country at all levels.” ", pointing out that "the Baiji refinery, which was rehabilitated after a hiatus that lasted more than ten years, will contribute to achieving the country's self-sufficiency in petroleum derivatives and will work to supply the local market with (3,500 - 4,500) tons per day of liquid gas and (5,500) million liters per day of Gasoline, in addition to (5500) million liters per day of naphtha and (3300) million liters per day of gas oil.” He pointed out that "the efforts to restore the Baiji refinery are considered a vital and strategic part of the government's strategy to enhance national production capabilities and improve the quality of petroleum products."

Shaddad stressed "the importance of valuing the efforts made by all parties in rehabilitating the refinery and returning it to a lofty economic landmark," noting that "the Prime Minister praised these efforts, including what the Parliamentary Oil and Gas Committee made in achieving this major economic achievement."
* Proof of the government's seriousness.

For his part, MP Alaa Sukkar said in a statement: “The opening of the North Refinery in Baiji District demonstrated the seriousness of the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani in working and implementing its government programme,” indicating that “what the Iraqi government did in rehabilitating the North Refinery in Baiji From Iraqi cadres confirming their seriousness in working and implementing all the provisions of the government program, and perhaps this is happening for the first time.”

Sukkar added, “The refinery was restored to work at low costs, away from the complications of foreign companies,” expressing his “thanks to the Prime Minister and everyone who worked to restore work in this refinery.”

Strategic move

In addition, MP Intisar al-Maliki, a member of the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, said in a statement: “Efforts are accelerating to rehabilitate the Baiji refinery under the auspices of our government, a strategic step that reflects the government’s dedication to achieving self-sufficiency and strengthening the industry.”

Representative Zaytoun Al-Dulaimi also stated in a statement: “We are witnessing tireless efforts by the Iraqi government to rehabilitate the Baiji refinery,” stressing that it is “a tremendous step towards enhancing self-sufficiency and achieving economic stability. This step provides a distinctive model towards strengthening the local industry with patriotic Iraqi hands that provided millions of dollars".

* Great achievements

For his part, Representative Ahmed Al-Jubouri said, in his blog post on the (X) platform, that “the great achievements at all levels undertaken by the government, which are higher than the ceiling of the approved government program, reflect the wise management, diligent follow-up, and great effort made by Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa.” Sudanese, under direct supervision of all ministries and state institutions.”

In turn, Representative Alia Nassif said in a blog post on the (X) platform: “The rehabilitation of the North Refinery in Baiji was carried out by Iraqi cadres in record time and at the lowest costs. If it had been referred to foreign companies, the state would have been forced to pay high costs.” She added: “Thank you to the Prime Minister, the engineering staff, and all those who participated in the rehabilitation of the refinery.”

* A decisive step

In addition, Representative Thamer Dhiban said, in his blog post on the (X) platform, “The government’s efforts to rehabilitate the Baiji refinery reflect its commitment to strengthening the national industry and achieving self-sufficiency in the oil sector, a decisive step towards strengthening the local economy and achieving energy independence.”

He added: "Our government stands with determination and dedication behind the efforts to rehabilitate the Baiji refinery, a decisive step towards strengthening our industry and achieving self-sufficiency," stressing, "We support the national industry to achieve sustainable development." For his part, Representative Hassan Qasim Al-Khafaji noted in a blog post on the (X) platform that “the North Refinery is vibrant with life,” stressing that it is “a great achievement that supports the national economy and achieves self-sufficiency in petroleum products.”

He continued: "Thanks to Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, for his tireless efforts in rehabilitating the Baiji Al-Shamal refinery."

Representative Yahya Al-Muhammadi also praised the steps taken by the Prime Minister and his tireless and continuous efforts to implement the government program.

Al-Mohammadi said, in his blog post on the (X) platform, “We commend all the steps taken by the Prime Minister and his tireless and continuous efforts to implement the government program, especially at the service level, the most recent of which was the opening of the North Baiji refinery and the resumption of work in it.”

* Sincere desire

For her part, Representative Nissan Al-Zayer said in her blog post on the (X) platform: “The rehabilitation of the Baiji refinery in record time expresses a sincere government desire to preserve Iraq’s wealth from waste and loss of import resources and to strengthen and expand oil facilities to support the Iraqi economy.”

She added: "We call on the Prime Minister and his dedicated cadres to implement the government program. We will witness a transformation in Iraq's service and economic situation."

Representative Sahira Al-Jubouri also stated, in her blog post on the (X) platform, that “day after day, the Prime Minister’s government, through its follow-up at all levels, proves its commitment and seriousness in implementing its political program in a way that achieves the interest of the nation and shows Iraq in the civilized face that befits it.”

He pointed out that "the rehabilitation of the North Refinery in Baiji with purely national hands is conclusive evidence of the Prime Minister's keenness on national gains."

* Exceptional efforts

For his part, MP Aqeel Al-Fatlawi said in his blog post on the (X) platform, that “with exceptional efforts made by the government to rehabilitate an important and basic joint in the transportation sector.” ?
