NOMAD Transportable Power Systems, (NOMAD) which shook up the mobile energy storage world with the NOMAD TRAVELER (1 MW/2.0 MWh), VOYAGER (500 kW/1.3 MWh) and ROVER (250 kW/664 kWh) units, has released the NOMAD PATHFINDER, a 200 kW/220 kWh system that brings unrivaled flexibility and application opportunities in the transportable power sector.
“There are countless needs of both grid-connected and off-grid applications for mobile battery systems that can be moved by heavy-duty trucks,” said Paul Coombs, NOMAD’s CEO. “Whether at commercial or industrial facilities, in emergency response, for field operations in energy, mining, agriculture and forestry, or supporting utility services, the PATHFINDER makes it a snap to deliver pollution-free, reliable power.”
Coombs said the production of the PATHFINDER would immediately ramp up. Orders for the new units are already in place.
The PATHFINDER is a complete battery energy system. For towing, the system and trailer total less than 10,000 pounds. The system can be a completely off-grid asset, charged by solar through 10 kW DC input. It comes with an inverter and onboard circuit breaker installed, includes integrated HVAC, temperature monitoring and electric heaters, and implements system controls and data collection for reliability and safety.
“This is a plug-and-play system that can be used by heavy construction crews, industries with field operations and when utilities need a shot of energy to mitigate short-term outages and upgrades,” Coombs said. “For larger needs our portfolio goes all the way up to 2 MWh, but for flexibility and dispatchability that gets the job done, the PATHFINDER is indispensable. It offers grid-independence on the go, and with solar added, cuts rising fuel costs.”
For specialized applications, NOMAD also offers a range of options including those for marine applications, cold or warm weather, additional auxiliary power, hydraulic lifting legs or 50 Hz European configuration.
All NOMAD systems are designed to NFPA 855 and are powered by KORE Power battery cells that are UL9540A and UL1973 tested. Additionally, all systems can be monitored 24-hours-a-day, 356-days-a-year, through the company’s Vermont-based Network Operations Center.
