A commemorative capsule to mark the beginning of the construction of a solar power plant (SPP) was laid in the Almaty region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The project will provide the production facilities of LLC LUKOIL Lubricants Central Asia (a wholly owned PJSC LUKOIL subsidiary) with environmentally friendly solar energy.

The SPP will be located close to the LUKOIL’s lubricants factory. Its design capacity amounts to 4.95 MW. Construction of the first 2 MW line of the plant is to be completed in 2024.

LUKOIL puts a premium on its energy efficiency and decreasing its carbon footprint related to hydrocarbons production. The Company actively develops solar, wind and hydropower generation.

The landmark project of the 2023 was the commissioning of a largest green energy facility: a wind park in the Murmansk region with capacity of over 200 MW.

In December 2023, LUKOIL signed the Oil & Gas Decarbonization Charter along with 50 other major energy companies of the world.?
