The Swedish heat pump company Qvantum has recently acquired Electrolux Group's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Nyíregyháza, Hungary. The appliance industry has long been recognized as a benchmark in terms of Operational Excellence and represents a model for the heat pump industry. Through the acquisition, Qvantum now has access to superior mass production technology and know-how to accelerate its growth journey.
As of today, March 6th, Federico Rosales will take on the role as Global Chief of Operations. His mission is to set up end-to-end operations to enable the scale-up of Qvantum. A critical component is the successful transformation and start-up of the Nyíregyháza facility, which will be converted from refrigerator production to high-end electric heat pumps for key European markets.
Throughout his career, Federico has built significant expertise in highly complex operations systems in industry-leading companies such as Whirlpool, as well as experiences from the automotive and adjacent industries. He has experience covering roles across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Strategic Planning. He has gained experience both in high-paced operations leadership assignments and multi-year transformation programs in various functional areas
"With Federico on board, we gain access to his many years of experience in navigating the complexities of mass production. He has the right experience and know-how to lead the setup of our production system. This is a huge advantage for the team in Nyíregyháza and the company as a whole," says Fredrik Rosenqvist, CEO and co-founder of Qvantum.
"In addition to taking over a large part of the workforce from Electrolux and thus bringing their expertise with us, we have now recruited an experienced leader with extensive experience in mass production to lead Qvantum's major investment in the former Electrolux factory."
The production facility in Nyíregyháza is Qvantum's third factory after Limhamn and Ĺstorp in Sweden. With the factory in operation, Qvantum is estimated to become one of Europe's largest heat pump manufacturers.
