EXCO Resources, Inc., a Texas corporation incorporated in October 1955, is an independent oil and natural gas company engaged in the exploration, exploitation, development and production of onshore oil and natural gas properties in East Texas, North Louisiana, Appalachia and the Permian.

The operations in The East Texas/North Louisiana area is comprised of the Cotton Valley Sand trend, which covers portions of the East Texas Basin and the Northern Louisiana Salt Basin, and the Haynesville shale play that rapidly developed in northwest Louisiana and East Texas beginning in 2008. EXCO is targeting tight gas sand reservoirs along the Cotton Valley Sand trend at depths of approximately 6,500 to 15,000 feet. The Pennsylvania area, Drilling, completion and production activities target the Marcellus shale and the Upper Devonian Venango, Bradford and Elk sandstone groups. The West Virginia area, Drilling, completion and production activities target the Marcellus shale.
