Marathon Oil has a major leasehold position in the core of the Eagle Ford Shale formation in South Texas, Woodford resource play in the Anadarko Woodford shale program in western Oklahoma, Bakken Shale oil play in the North Dakota and Niobrara Shale play in the DJ Basin in southeastern Wyoming.
