Scope  Nabiye project expansion, which is located in northeast of the existing Maskwa and Leming sites, north of Marie Lake, in Northeastern Alberta, will include a new steam generation and bitumen-processing plant, field production pads and associated facilities and a 170-MW cogeneration facility. The project will add 40,000 barrels a day of production and 250 million barrels of net proved reserves at Cold Lake in late 2014.

Nabiye expansion project include:
- Updated field development layout.
- A cogeneration facility to enhance energy efficiency includes a 144kV transmission line from Nabiye to Mahihkan North). The cogeneration system will include two gas turbines with two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs) and a single once through steam generator (OTSG) to produce electricity and steam. This cogeneration configuration will replace the 10 OTSGs that were part of the 2004 Nabiye approval.
- sulphur-removal facilities to reduce sulphur-dioxide emissions.
