DNO ASA, a leading Norwegian oil and gas operator, announced the discovery of light oil in license PL1086 in the Norwegian Continental Shelf, where the company holds a 50% operated interest alongside partners Aker BP ASA (20%), Petoro AS (20%), and Source Energy AS (10%).
The discovery was made in Palaeocene sandstones of excellent reservoir quality, with preliminary estimates of gross recoverable resources ranging between 27-57 million barrels of oil equivalent (MMboe), and a mean estimate of 41 MMboe (source DNO website).
