In order to systematically summarize the progress of cost control and economic activity analysis in 2024 and comprehensively deploy work tasks for 2025, on March 25, Heavy Industry held a 2024 Cost Control and Economic Activity Analysis Evaluation Meeting in the form of video. Liang Yanfeng, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Committee of Heavy Industry, attended the meeting and delivered a summary speech.
At the meeting, the Finance Department of Heavy Industry made a comprehensive summary of the cost control and other work of the whole system in 2024. Eight shipbuilding and repairing companies including Nantong COSCO Shipping Kawasaki introduced their achievements in cost control and other work in 2024, and shared advanced experiences and typical cases.
The meeting emphasized that the whole system should further improve the awareness of cost control, increase the consciousness and urgency of work, and each business department should take the primary responsibility of cost control, continue to consolidate the core competitiveness of cost control, and ensure the steady improvement of the profitability of heavy industry. All employees should persist in the determination of "squeezing water out of a dry towel", firmly establish the concept of "all costs are controllable", promote cost control of all employees, all factors and all processes, and carry out cost reduction and efficiency improvement throughout all business links.
The meeting pointed out that cost control and lean management are essentially the same. We must insist on taking into account both explicit and implicit costs, pay attention to detail innovation, improve positive incentive mechanisms, deepen the "long-term learning from Kawasaki" and benchmarking work, and continuously innovate and use digital means to empower cost control. We must vigorously promote the culture of "running enterprises frugally", resolutely put an end to any form of waste, start from the little things, persevere, and always work hard to lay a solid foundation for the sustainable development of heavy industry.
More than 200 people, including heads of relevant departments of the Heavy Industry Headquarters, main heads of affiliated enterprises and related personnel, attended the meeting. More than 40 main leaders of the Ship Research Institute Division and affiliated companies and related business representatives attended the meeting via video.
