Five global consultancy organisations have responded by participating in the pre-bid meet called by GAIL for the appointment of Technical Consultant to carry out the pre-feasibility study for Iran – Pakistan India pipeline project. The pre-feasibility study is scheduled to be completed by mid December 2005.
The companies that participated in the pre-bid meet include Snamprogetti of Italy, Technip of Germany, J P Kenny of Australia, Tractebel of Belgium and ILF of UK. Various issues and queries raised by the potential bidders were discussed during the meeting.

The estimated length of the pipeline is 2100 km, of which 1100 km will be in Iran, 750 km will be in Pakistan and 250 km in India.
