Datum360, supplier of software solutions & services to help Oil & Gas companies specify, capture and manage engineering information for capital intensive projects, has announced the appointment of Lin Whitworth as Director Client Services. This is a new position with responsibility for managing the delivery of a rapidly growing number of new projects, as Datum360 expands with the new PIM360 and CLS360 software, and enters new territories.
As Director Client Services, Lin adds significant capability and experience to Datum360’s team of Engineering Information Management consultants who have decades of experience in delivering successful projects for companies such as BP, ConocoPhillips, Maersk Oil, Total, Tullow Oil etc. He is responsible for delivering effective management of all of Datum360 projects to satify the Client’s needs. Lin says ”I am excited by the opportunity to work with such an experienced group of people. Datum360’s applications have been developed to simplify the specification, delivery and use of engineering information. I look forward to working with our Clients to understand their particular needs and then help them in the development and realisation of their IM strategies.”
Datum360 expects many new projects utilising the PIM360 and CLS360 SaaS software solutions that were released last year. These provide information management capabilities that were previously not available. They help to automate and improve Information Management processes that acquire, manipulate and condition engineering data, so that it is ‘As It Should Be’.
Lin has 30 years experience in the Oil & Gas industry where he has delivered successful projects in previous positions at leading companies such as Amerada Hess, SBM, Aker Kvaerner, AMEC, Nexen and BP. Lin was Information Management Team Leader & Completions Manager for the Buzzard development project at Nexen UK, where he led a large team, and more recently was Information Handover Manager at BP for the Valhall Redevelopment Project -VRD- a large Greenfield and Brownfield “Mega” Project.
For VRD, Lin led the Project Information Management Group with responsibility for all activities from definition of information requirements, strategies and procedures, through monitoring & controlling all aspects of information management, data governance & IT interfaces, to managing information handover to Operations.
