Transneft Western Siberia has completed the revamping of the vertical steel floating roof tank (VAFRT) with a volume of 20 thousand m3 at the Parabel oil pumping station of the Tomsk Regional Oil Pipeline Directorate (RPD).
The works were performed as part of the technical upgrading, revamping and overhaul programme of the company’s operating facilities for 2020.
A complete replacement of metal structures of the tank was carried out, an impervious screen of the dyking was equipped, supply pipelines were replaced, and duplicate electric stop valves were installed. A load compensation system which minimises loads on the intake and distribution nozzles of the tank, that arise during its operation, was installed.
To ensure industrial safety and the conduct of commodity transport operations, information on the VFRT operation is transmitted in real time to the operator's automated workstation (AWS). The AWS displays data on the tank’s filling and emptying rate, the level and temperature of oil.
According to the design solutions, the standard service life of the revamped tank is at least 50 years, and the overhaul interval is at least 20 years.
